Jaipur's pink-hued old city and Amber Fort, Jodhpur's blue lanes beneath the mighty Mehrangarh, Udaipur's lake palaces and Jaisalmer's golden fort rising from the Thar — each city has its own character, and together they make one of the world's great road journeys.
